Singapore At A Glace | Singapore Stories

SINGAPORE, often called as LION CITY is basically a beautiful island in Southern-East Asia. It consists of a main island and 62 other little islets. It is a country cum city in itself. Ain’t that amazing ? I visited Singapore this summer and trust me when I say this, “It is one of the best organized place I have ever been to.”  Before starting the whole SINGAPORE STORIES series, let me give you all a short guide about the place in this post so that you can plan your trip in a better way !

Best Time To Visit Singapore:

The weather in Singapore is hot and humid throughout. There are no particular seasons here. It rains during November and December here. The whole year it’s more like warm and shiny. JUNE  & JULY are best months for a trip here.

Packing For Singapore :

Since it’s all hot and humid as mentioned above, try to pack cotton clothes. Breezy and light clothes would really help you out. Pack your good walking shoes too.

While In Singapore :

Singapore has different districts which vary in size from well-known precincts to quaint little suburbs. Each has its own charm and character. There are so many extraordinary places to visit here. I felt my week trip wasn’t enough to cover all these beautiful places.

Here is a list of places I visited in Singapore :

  • Clarke Qauy
  • Marina Bay
  • Universal Studio
  • Singapore Zoo
  • River Safari
  • Wildlife Night Safari
  • Sentosa Island
  • Little India
  • Garden By The Bay

And here is the list of places I missed visiting but are worth your time and eyes :

  • Singapore Flyer
  • Jurong Bird Park
  • The Changi Museum
  • China Town
  • The Helix Bridge
  • Some Historic Temples

Where To Shop :

Singapore is a shopper’s hub. You can visit these places for great items.

  • Orchard Road
  • Buggis Street
  • Little India
  • Clarke Quay
  • China Town

Besides all these places mentioned, there a dozens of shopping malls here where you can get everything u need.

What To Eat:

Enjoy the delicious Singaporean cuisine. If you are a vegetarian as I am, you have all the outlets of MacD, Subway, KFC and what not. And if you want to have Indian food, visit LITTLE INDIA. It has many restaurants that serve only Indian food.

I personally shopped grocery at a small grocery mall and stocked up on breads, fruits, jams, dairy products, juices and more stuffs like that. This is the option given when your stay is away from all the mentioned options above. :p

I really hope this post gave you all a better idea of Singapore and wish you all like this series. Stay tuned for more on SINGAPORE STORIES.

Till the next time,
